TANZANIA "
Education is very important in these countries, where school becomes difficult to attend due to the long distances to travel and the impossibility of implementing state wall school complexes, for this reason we have decided to intervene also on the university of medicine "

Rural universities, to be closer to the poorest

Rosa Rossa is building 3 rural universities (of Medicine and of Agronomy). The choice of rural locations, close to good but very poor students, aims at reduce educational inequality even at university level, and at training doctors and agronomists precisely where they are most needed.

The first rural university has just been completed in western Tanzania, on the border with Burundi and the Congo DRC.  It is a 5-year medical university, the first medical university in a region the size of the Netherlands. And it will welcome students who cannot afford to go to study in the capital.

But thanks to tele-teaching from the capital and abroad, and the creation of a digital library, the quality of education and training will be high.

In the remote west of Tanzania, on the border with Congo and Zambia, the Rosa Rossa and our local partner have just completed a construction   of a five-year University of Medicine.  It is the first university of Medicine in a region of Tanzania that has about ten million inhabitants.  In its initial phase, the University has a capacity of 500 students.
