Music and Arts school for poor children

Rosa Rossa purchased the land for the construction of the “St. Thomas – Rosa Rossa” in Marawila, on the west coast of Sri Lanka.   This multipurpose educational center is designed to meet multiple needs of children, mothers and young people in the community.

At present, this project involves the construction of:

- “St. Thomas – Rosa Rossa Music and Arts School” intended to be of high level and practically free (with admission only on the basis of the students' talent and not on the possibility of paying the tuition) for the children and young people of the area.

- A small theater space / conference area with a capacity of about 140 people, to allow cultural events and performances by the students;

- A small technical school, with tailoring and cooking courses (Italian and local cuisine) for the mothers of poor children in the area, to create sustainable and decent work.  Volunteer expert bakers from Rosa Rossa will provide in-person and tele-cooking classes to the students/mothers.
